Cally’s Caves 4 Update

Happy 2017!  We are working relentlessly on the next Cally game, and wanted to post a quick update on where we are at with the project.

Back to Cally’s Caves 4 – After seeing the developers of Super Cat Bros. go through some name troubles, we’ve decided to change the name back to Cally’s Caves 4.  It’s better safe than sorry when it comes to the game name and creating marketing/promotional material.

Over half of the enemies are done – we’ve been working non-stop to create some enemies that change the status quo for the Cally games, and so far we are done the art and code for over half of the enemies!

Beta will be starting soon – Come join the Cally Discord if you want to help us test the game!

We are now working on some of the bosses and remaining enemies.  The Soundtrack is 80% done. The in-game dossier/wiki system is done.  So much of the game is done!  But there is still a lot left to do, so it’s time to get back to work.

Cally’s Caves Series & Glass Wing on sale for Steam Winter Sale!

Happy Holidays to everyone!  We are happy to announce that Cally’s Caves 3 and Cally’s Trials will be on sale throughout the Steam Winter Sale.  In addition to this, Glass Wing, a game by Cally contributor Sayuri, is also on sale.  To celebrate the sale of our games, Sayuri has created this amazing image of Cally and Mayfly (the protagonist from Glass Wing).

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays, and we can’t wait to bring you Cally’s Caves 4 in 2017!

Pyxel Edit – This is what I personally use and is well worth the $9
Aseprite – You have several options with this one. You can download an older version of it for free , compile the source code for free here: or simply purchase it for $20.

Cally Discord & the Painter’s Apprentice

We are working so hard on Super Cally’s World right now!  Currently, we are working on enemy implementation, and are fleshing out the last few systems that we have yet to code/design into the game.  Over the next months, as more art gets plugged into the game, we will get back to posting weekly #screenshotsaturday’s and more specifics about the game.  In the meantime, you can join the Cally Discord to keep up with what’s going on.

Also, our friends Luminosity Inc, LLC. are doing a Kickstarter and Greenlight for their game, the Painter’s Apprentice!  The nice folks at Luminosity have been a really positive influence to us over the years we’ve been doing game development, and we want to help spread the word about the Painter’s Apprentice as much as possible.  So if you see fit, please throw them a vote on Greenlight, or a few dollars on Kickstarter, and help make their #indiedev dreams come true!
